Independence Montessori Academy was founded by Luke and Katelyn Gerhardt and Rod Drake. Each founder is a Harnett County resident who truly believes in the Montessori curriculum after seeing their own children thrive in this environment. Our founders come from all different backgrounds- from the business world to serving in the military, but they all joined together with one goal in mind- to create an outstanding Montessori school for the children of Harnett County. After reaching out and speaking with other parents and families, their initial thoughts were confirmed- everyone they spoke with agreed that a private, alternative school would be beneficial to their community. While our founders come from all different walks of life, they have combined their strengths, talents, and knowledge to create Independence Montessori Academy.
